MySpace...is it just me, or...?

Is it just me, or is MySpace completely pointless? I have a MySpace (unfortunately) after my friends cajoled me into making one up a little while ago. It's completely useless and I still don't get . If I want to talk to people, I call them on the phone. It seems that MySpace's main purpose is to post photos of yourself (all too often, skanky-ish ones taken for the sole purpose of "looking hot" for all the strangers that come on by) and then sit back and wait for the feedback to roll in. That, or to post some kind of questionnaire or poll for everyone to see, even though no one really cares about how many years you've known your BFF, or what you're wearing right now. :P

Maybe I am just a old 25 yo fogey, but I just don't get it.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

You don't like it probably because you don't USE it.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

No, I think it's pretty pointless and I am a teenager.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

its more for the teen population.

waste of time for adults.

=P

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

O i agree. It is pointless. i got rid of mine. He he

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

Yes, it's just you.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

it is kinda pointless but its a goodway if you like a band to talk to them.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

I see your point

What I consider it to be is a central repository

I can email all my nephews, nieces, etc who do not live locally and without worrying about my cell phone minutes.

It's just another modern day communication tool, as I see it.

Watch out though if you try to sell something...all the scammers from Nigeria come out of the woodwork!!

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

i agree to an extent. it's getting kinda boring for me and I'm 23. It's designed more to appeal to teenagers. I'll be deleting it soon.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

agreed

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

I know what you mean and alot of my friends think so too, but once you get into it it's great for keeping up with those friends who you don't see that often, have lost contact with or moved off OR **talking to someone who you can't talk face to face to, etc.: old boyfriends! lol Good luck!

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

I know, and I agree. Myspace is for peeps that have a TON of time on their hands, and don't mind wasting it on pointless stuff.

No, I'm not saying that Myspace is bad, It can be quite COOL, but if you don't have time for it, too bad.

If you don't feel the need to express yourself, then it is probably not for you.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

Maybe you should try facebook. I know they are similar, but I think the idea of facebook is more "networking" than showing off and trying to get feedback. I know that I have CLOSE friends who I pick up the phone and call when I want, but I have other friends, some out of the country, who our main way of keeping in touch is via facebook. It's a useful tool if you don't misuse it.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

i don't think anybody actually gets it.....its just ment to be a daily ego boost for some people

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

Myspace is whatever you make it....something private (if you put it on private) just for yours friends to keep in touch. I mean honestly, I dont want to always pick up the phone...sometimes I get annoyed with one hr conversations, id rather send a message...myspace is also a place to promote yourself as a musician, entertainer, whatever, its a way to connect...many bands have been discovered on myspace (panic at the disco, etc) It is what you want to make it.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

I just use Myspace to keep in touch with everybody from my old school.....i am 14. I don't plan on posting personal stuff about me or anything.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

so delete your myspace account. it's not for everyone, and yes i agree its mostly just skanky pics of people. but i use it to keep in touch with my family members overseas, wayyy cheaper than a long-distance phone call =)

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

Actually I find it quite useful to stay in contact with family and friends who live far away. Making phone calls can get expensive and using myspace is free. If I send an e-mail I have to weed through a bunch of junk mail before I get to them. I find its mostly the very younger generation that post photos and chain letters that are annoying. You just have to limit the amount of young people who have access to your myspace

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

No, you're quite correct.

The whole thing has no real point to it other than just as a bit of fun.

Take it in that context and it's fine.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

I find myspace very useful keeping in contact with friends that do not live close to me anymore. I live in New York but grew up in California, so myspace is what I use to keep in contact with childhood friends. I also have friends in Toronto, Texas and even just other parts of NYS that I probably would not talk to otherwise.

I really like the invitation feature, so you can invite people to your parties/gatherings right online.

A lot of people use it as a dating site too. In comparison to other expensive dating sites, myspace is much more affordable and there is likely to be even more people on it.

MySpace...is it just me, or...?

i too have been pushed to join by friends. it is just a way to communicate. i dont like myspace b/c of the competition %26amp; arguments caused by it. myspace pretty much is pointless, but then again some ppl started their career on there. i know of a man who posted his own music on there and became famous.

Myspace for old people?

I asked a totally different question earlier. One of my answers said basically that I was too old to be on myspace. I tend to lean that way. There are a lot of the younger crowd on there. I basically signed up to try and find some old friends from home. I just moved back home two years ago from being gone for almost 16 years. That was the real reason why I signed up on myspace. I actually have found a lot of old freinds on there and most of them are my age. I did have a date with one girl on the site. Was the best four days of my life. But I'm not really into finding relationships on there. Just re-connecting with some old freinds and maybe meeting some new friends. Am I too old to be on myspace? Seriously??

Myspace for old people?

you are not too old to be on myspace. i'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're in 30's+, and i've seen very many people on their that age. myspace has a lot more things to do than 'hooking up' like the youth is there for. there are plenty of blogs to read, forums to read, video clips to watch, and music to check out. i'm 24 and all but one of my friends are in my age range, or older. people tend to focus on the younger myspace users because they're the ones flashing the most skin, and getting the most media attention for getting into trouble. don't worry what people say. i found 4 of my cousins on there. go there and reconnect with people and enjoy it =)

Myspace for old people?

yes

Myspace for old people?

poopies

Myspace for old people?

You never told us your age.

Myspace for old people?

no.

Myspace for old people?

its not by age.....do what you think its right

Myspace for old people?

I didn't know there is an age limit.

Myspace for old people?

Seriously.. I figure if you are about 14.. then MySpace is just right for you.. otherwise, find a more mature place to look. Just an opinion.

Myspace for old people?

ok well my daughter is on my space and she is 20. thinking if you feel comfortable in there than that is your bag of marbals do whatever you feel right with.ppl on the net can be very mean.

Myspace for old people?

its for all ages.

Myspace for old people?

Actually i read in rolling stone magazine that only about 20% of the people signed up on myspace are 25 years old and younger. The rest are all older. yeah i thought it was a bit strange hearing that because i'm a teen and i feel as if myspace is mostly kids. But they said its true... they said it came straight from tom himself. i dont think anybody is too old for myspace or any website in that matter, just as long as you stick with people your own age and arent a perv [im not saying you are by the way... sorry if thats what you thought]

Myspace.com & brother-in law?

Okay Here is the situation I was looking around on myspace.com and I came across my 39 yr old brother-in -laws page.. he does not have much on it just 2 friends both girls , there are no messages like on some of the other pages, anyway here is the problem he filled out his astro sign and his marital status( he put single ) he has benn married for a year and has a 7 mth old baby.... I find this kinda odd.

But I do not know that much about how the myspace pages work.

Does this seem odd, or am I just not hip to the myspace thing?

Myspace.com %26amp; brother-in law?

He may not know how to change his relationship status or it might not really matter to him to bother figuring out how to change it. Or there is the other possibility that he is doughting his marriage, but I think it's the first.

Myspace.com %26amp; brother-in law?

well maybe he hasnt updated it yet

Myspace.com %26amp; brother-in law?

It's possible that he created the account before marriage or because of curiosity/boredom....many of these online profile things have defaults in which single is just part of the default and unless you go in and change it to married, or know to do this, it remains in default status. Not sure if myspace is the same, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt....

Myspace.com %26amp; brother-in law?

I wouldn't read TOO MUCH into it. Especially if he doesn't have much on there. He may have rushed or skimmed through the profile and it did the default "single" thing.

Until you see something incriminating (like a message), I would just trust this one.

Myspace issues in relationship?

So I am in an LDR right now with someone. We have known each other two years, and he tells me he loves me. He is 5k miles away from me. Obviously we dont see each other much. This past feb he started a myspace, he said his friend started it for him and he just went along with it. It says that he's single. I dont have myspace, but i've looked at his. Most of his friends are girls he grew up with or knew in high school...a few are in the miltary with him. It bothers me...at one point we werent really even together, and i was dating someone else...i admit i havent been faithful, but i'm pretty sure he hasnt been either when his myspace says single. He keeps telling me how much he loves me, he even has said, do you want me to change it or cancel it, but he doesnt. He says he barely checks it, which is true, but he did check it yesterday and added two new 'girl' friends. I feel annoyed...but also feel like i have no room to say anything...i sorta consider myself single too....

Myspace issues in relationship?

confront him about it saying that hes single

Myspace issues in relationship?

what is the problem here?

Myspace issues in relationship?

It's hard to develop and impossible to enforce "rules" from that far away, with that little contact.

I know single people who put "in a serious relationship" to avoid tons of stalkers, but they're mostly women.

I think you need to relax on something he probably put very little thought in originally, as harmless as mistyping his address!

Besides, with no commitment, what do you want him to call himself? He is single, at least by law, until married or widowed!!!

Myspace issues in relationship?

First of all "single" implies "not married". Second of all, if you are jealous of girls on his MySpace sounds like there are some self-esteem issues to be worked out. Thirdly, if he is in the military and you cheated on him, SHAME ON YOU. he's serving his country, the least you can do is keep your legs closed.

Help me please! myspace layout sizing problems?

Hi,

I have a premade myspace layout that I added to my site but it's too big! I have to go back and forth horizonally to view each side of my profile. could someone please look at this code and tell me what needs to be changed so my layout can stay "inside the box"?
