I didn't realize it was possible to have a myspace email account, because in order to sign up with myspace, you have to enter your regular email address.

That's tough. I would suggest contacting customer support and explaining the situation. If you can provide personal information to prove that you are the owner of the account, I'm sure they will give you a new password.

on the sign in page by login it has a thing forgot password..go into that ..it will send u ur password in a email..if that doesn't work u may have to get a new account.....be sure when u find ur password hit remember me on loggin that helps...

Project Playlist and Myspace problems!!??

ok, i have a project playlist account which i put on my myspace. note when i put it on my myspace there was no link to put in the "about me" category. I decided i wanted to delete the playlist account all together. not knowing how to do that properly, i deleted the whole project playlist account. now, not only is my playlist still on my myspace, i can't get on my playlist to delete the songs i had.

then, after i paniced because i relized i had deleted the playlist account, i created another playlist account and put that one on my myspace. now, i have two project playlist accounts going at the same time and i don't want either of them.

How do i get a deleted project playlist account off of my myspace, and how do i get a working playlist off my account??

However you can be tracked by your IP address...my boyfriend did that to me when he thought I was going on personal sites, and with that he could see anything and everything I ever did. Quit going behind her back, she's gonna catch you. i wanted a good myspace layout for a time ... i was wondering if someone could make me one and give me the link or atleast find a really good girly one. here are the stuff it needs for me to like it : the home, browse, search, invite, film, etc needs to have the font "small fonts" in size 8. the heading needs to be in arial, large not small i want it to be very big maybe size 14..15.16 in that range. the comments have to be font "arial" size 9-10. it has to show the friends and thats pretty much it ;)

Did you use one of those modules that automatically send add requests to just about everyone? that's a spam issue. Or maybe someone just accidentally reported your email as spam. Sometimes people break into other's accounts and do mass mailings, so you can write to the myspace tech group and ask them why you were flagged

Is it just me, or is MySpace completely pointless? I have a MySpace (unfortunately) after my friends cajoled me into making one up a little while ago. It's completely useless and I still don't get . If I want to talk to people, I call them on the phone. It seems that MySpace's main purpose is to post photos of yourself (all too often, skanky-ish ones taken for the sole purpose of "looking hot" for all the strangers that come on by) and then sit back and wait for the feedback to roll in. That, or to post some kind of questionnaire or poll for everyone to see, even though no one really cares about how many years you've known your BFF, or what you're wearing right now. :P

Maybe you should try facebook. I know they are similar, but I think the idea of facebook is more "networking" than showing off and trying to get feedback. I know that I have CLOSE friends who I pick up the phone and call when I want, but I have other friends, some out of the country, who our main way of keeping in touch is via facebook. It's a useful tool if you don't misuse it.

Myspace is whatever you make it....something private (if you put it on private) just for yours friends to keep in touch. I mean honestly, I dont want to always pick up the phone...sometimes I get annoyed with one hr conversations, id rather send a message...myspace is also a place to promote yourself as a musician, entertainer, whatever, its a way to connect...many bands have been discovered on myspace (panic at the disco, etc) It is what you want to make it.

Actually I find it quite useful to stay in contact with family and friends who live far away. Making phone calls can get expensive and using myspace is free. If I send an e-mail I have to weed through a bunch of junk mail before I get to them. I find its mostly the very younger generation that post photos and chain letters that are annoying. You just have to limit the amount of young people who have access to your myspace

I find myspace very useful keeping in contact with friends that do not live close to me anymore. I live in New York but grew up in California, so myspace is what I use to keep in contact with childhood friends. I also have friends in Toronto, Texas and even just other parts of NYS that I probably would not talk to otherwise.

I really like the invitation feature, so you can invite people to your parties/gatherings right online.

A lot of people use it as a dating site too. In comparison to other expensive dating sites, myspace is much more affordable and there is likely to be even more people on it.

I asked a totally different question earlier. One of my answers said basically that I was too old to be on myspace. I tend to lean that way. There are a lot of the younger crowd on there. I basically signed up to try and find some old friends from home. I just moved back home two years ago from being gone for almost 16 years. That was the real reason why I signed up on myspace. I actually have found a lot of old freinds on there and most of them are my age. I did have a date with one girl on the site. Was the best four days of my life. you are not too old to be on myspace. i'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're in 30's+, and i've seen very many people on their that age. myspace has a lot more things to do than 'hooking up' like the youth is there for. there are plenty of blogs to read, forums to read, video clips to watch, and music to check out. i'm 24 and all but one of my friends are in my age range, or older. people tend to focus on the younger myspace users because they're the ones flashing the most skin, and getting the most media attention for getting into trouble. don't worry what people say. i found 4 of my cousins on there. go there and reconnect with people and enjoy it =)

Actually i read in rolling stone magazine that only about 20% of the people signed up on myspace are 25 years old and younger. The rest are all older. yeah i thought it was a bit strange hearing that because i'm a teen and i feel as if myspace is mostly kids. Okay Here is the situation I was looking around on myspace.com and I came across my 39 yr old brother-in -laws page.. he does not have much on it just 2 friends both girls , there are no messages like on some of the other pages, anyway here is the problem he filled out his astro sign and his marital status( he put single ) he has benn married for a year and has a 7 mth old baby.... I find this kinda odd.

But I do not know that much about how the myspace pages work.

It's possible that he created the account before marriage or because of curiosity/boredom....many of these online profile things have defaults in which single is just part of the default and unless you go in and change it to married, or know to do this, it remains in default status. Not sure if myspace is the same, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt....

I wouldn't read TOO MUCH into it. Especially if he doesn't have much on there. He may have rushed or skimmed through the profile and it did the default "single" thing.

So I am in an LDR right now with someone. We have known each other two years, and he tells me he loves me. He is 5k miles away from me. Obviously we dont see each other much. This past feb he started a myspace, he said his friend started it for him and he just went along with it. It says that he's single. I dont have myspace, but i've looked at his. Most of his friends are girls he grew up with or knew in high school...a few are in the miltary with him. It bothers me...at one point we werent really even together, and i was dating someone else...i admit i havent been faithful, but i'm pretty sure he hasnt been either when his myspace says single. It's hard to develop and impossible to enforce "rules" from that far away, with that little contact.

I know single people who put "in a serious relationship" to avoid tons of stalkers, but they're mostly women.

I think you need to relax on something he probably put very little thought in originally, as harmless as mistyping his address!

Besides, with no commitment, what do you want him to call himself? He is single, at least by law, until married or widowed!!!

So every time I try to get onto MySpace using Firefox, it instantly closes the window. If I use Internet Explorer, it doesn't close it. I'd give you 1000 to 1 odds that it's not FireFox causing the problem. Try removing the background image in IE and then open the page in FireFox to see if it makes a difference.

Honestly I doubt its the image though, unless you happen to be hot-linking the image from another site and it happens to be a dynamic image.

That is why trackers do not work. The only way that the tracker is able to pick up the people that visit your page, is if they have the same tracking device that you do...otherwise you won't know their info or that they even went to your profile. Really...trackers don't fully work. Good Luck!

I can think of two possibilities:

1. when you say it goes back to the myspace homepage, if you are referring to the page where all the links are across the top, such as home, mail, music, forum and all that, then you just need to click home and it should go to your homepage -OR-

2. if you mean that it goes back to the login page, then you have probably been phished...you could've clicked on something that opened a fake login page and saved your info for someone else to use. In this case, you should go to myspace (type www.myspace.com) in the address bar and sign in, and change your password immediately.

okay. well heres the thing. right now i have only 1 myspace account. If you have firewalls up it won't let you.. try this: turn off your firewall on your computers security/anti-virus program for 15 minutes if it lets you, then try doing your MySpace account again.

Myspace is safe for teenagers, way to keep in touch with friends, family and classmates and making more friends but you only add your friends instead making new friends. You can definitely keep myspace. I think that if you have properly instructed your children about how to conduct themselves online, and what information they should or should not give out, that no harm can be done.

If they are trying to meet girls or guys online, then definitely nip that one in the bud. That is when even good and smart kids can be duped. Unfortunately, where emotions are involved, we all get a little stupid sometimes. Tell them that they can have friends, but that's it. You can also set your myspace profile to private so that only your friends can view your page. It's that simple. Myspace can be a very secure place to be if kids know what to do.

In the long run, I feel it's naive or lazy parents that don't monitor their kid's online activity which leads to problems.

I don't understand why the kids wanted to meet strangers in the first place. I've heard it before, a girl goes to MdD's to meet someone she thinks is another teen. But it never crosses their mind that it could be some creepy old guy? And this isn't tiny kids. I remember having more sense at 14-15 but maybe I'm just not remembering right? The parents should have some responsibility and not let the computer and TV raise their kids in the first place.

I agree - it's the parents' responsibility to know what the kids are doing.

However, Myspace CAN do a few things to prevent things like that from happening. For example, they could require credit card verification to ensure that its members are 18 or over. (No charge, just verification.) Myspace does NOT require its members to be over 18, though, only 14, so they could require a PARENT's credit card verification for those that are underage. That way, they can know that the parents are monitoring their kids' activities. There's nothing wrong with taking basic steps to protect not only kids, but their company as well.

This has become a nation of "not my fault". I can't be with my 13year old all day,but he has myself,his father or his stepparents to go to and one of us are always there. He has a Myspace but he is MONITORED. I agree with you. If people want their children to be safe then they have to take actions to keep them safe BEFORE something happens. My husband and I made a decision to cancel our children's my space accounts just because of all the horrible things that are happening. We also have our computer in our living room so we can see everything they are doing. The internet has been around long enough for these parents to know what is going on and that they need to monitor their children. I am getting tired of reading about all these kids that are becoming victims of internet predators when simply removing their computer from their room, setting passwords and monitoring would have prevented of a lot of these kids from being hurt. I'm not saying that it's a fool proof system (we all know how clever and sneaky teens can be when they want to do something that's forbidden) but I am sure it would help to prevent a lot of these things from happening.

That is true. Myspace has nothing to do with these kids concious decision to meet up with some freaky jason they met online. That whole situation falls back on the parents inability to control these situations and fully monitor what their children are doing, or just plain ignorance. Who knows, either way.....myspace is not the newage babysitter and is in no way at fault. If the parents can't control their children, why do they think myspace can and should?

The myspace page is cool, but there's WAY too much info and too many pics on it. If you love guns, then that is YOU, and by all means you should not hide who you are. But beware that many women are frightened by guns, because they do not have knowledge of firearms, other than what the media tells them. So, you might want to back off on the guns a little. If you find the RIGHT girl, she will understand your love of guns and the need for them in our society. But some need to be eased into it and "shown the light."

The pics of you half clad are cool, but the other poster is right - some "chicks" might just be out for a good time and think that since you flaunt your body like that, that you are only after a good time. So you will attract that type.

But be yourself, definitely. And remember, myspace is not the only place to find intelligent women. Try taking up a class in your local junior college, or sign up for dance lessons somewhere. I, in fact, would love to take some dance classes, but I don't have a partner. (But I am married, and not hitting on you.)

If you are a genuinely good, caring person, I think you will attract a similar type of woman. So see if there is anything about you that a woman would be turned off about, and make efforts to change, adapt, etc. Good luck!

Well for a start oiled up topless pictures like your avatar are not going to help. Superficial photos like that are generally going to attract girls that just want to have a good time or whatever.

If you want to attract intelligent girls, then present yourself in an intelligent way. Your myspace page to me just screams PICTURES I can't tell anything about you from first glance other than you have an interest in the military. Get rid of all the photographs and put some real information about yourself in your about me. The pictures are nothing but distracting.

well i've been trying to change my email address on myspace. since i couldnt get into my old email, i had to do a salute and all of that. the link they provided to "email" customer support didn't work, so i did what they said but sent a message from my new email to customercare@myspace.com. they finally got back to me, but now i cant log in. my profile is still out there, and i tried my old info and my new info. i searched for both emails and my name, and nothing came up. this is so retarded. so do i just have to wait a few days or get a new myspace? this is pissin me off.

it looks to me like you are probably still using the OLD "hide friends and comments" code - that's what leaves that big space there
